29/09/2008 : Tchavolo Schmitt au Festival de la rue Saint-Antoine à Montreuil le 28 sept 2008.Tchavolo s'inscrit dans la plus pure tradition de Django Rheinhardt, dont il est le digne héritier... Il cristallise tout ce que la musique représente pour les Manouches: la simplicité du personnage s'allie à sa modestie, son humilité; sa virtuosité exceptionnelle se reflète dans la joie qu'il exprime lorsqu'il joue entouré des siens.Tchavolo Schmitt est né à Paris en 1954, il rejoint sa famille à Strasbourg en 1965.Là, il commence à jouer dans les cafés et clubs de la région et aussi, évidemment, au sein de la communauté manouche. Il invente son propre style où chaque note porte une émotion : la douleur de l?arrachement, l?abandon et la douceur de l?apaisement. Trop fort Tchavolo.

13/08/2007 : J?attendrai - A famous French melody is performed at the 2002 Sienne France Jazz Festival 15 km south of Lyon in France by three top gypsy guitarists. From left to right are Tchavolo Schmitt, Dorado Schmitt and Stochelo Rosenberg. Each of these Django inspired giants approach this beatiful tune in their own style and it appears that they are enjoying each others company as if they were playing together in a small living room rather than on a stage with 8000 people in the audience.
