Summer Samba (So Nice).
27/01/2008 : Summer Samba (also known as "So Nice" or its original Portuguese title "Samba de Verão") is a 1966 bossa nova song by Brazilian composer Marcos Valle with English language lyrics by Norman Gimbel. The original Portuguese lyrics came from Paulo Sérgio Valle brother to the composer. Marcos Kostenbader Valle (born September 14, 1943 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and record producer. His work has found success across many musical styles both within Brazil and in the rest of the world, including bossa nova, samba, incidental music for drama and fusions of American/European rock and dance music with Brazilian styles. The song was first popularised by the Walter Wanderley Trio in 1966 with versions by Johnny Mathis, Vikki Carr and Connie Francis during that same decade. Other notable versions include those by Astrud Gilberto and later by Bebel Gilberto, both of which recordings have been used in several television programs and in widely broadcast TV advertisements. As of the year 2000 the song had been recorded by more than 180 different artists worldwide.

16/10/2007 : Forro is a native music of Northern Brazil. Roughly translated it means 'love' and/or 'for all'. The music was brought to us over at Nublu, the Ave. C music hub of the LES, by band leader Mauro Refosco nearly 5 years ago. It was then this traditional folk-styled music of their homeland reached the ears of the New York nightlife. What started as a Brazilian birthday party became a sweat inducing dance party that has lasted almost every week of now 4 years! Now with the launch of Nublu Records, and special appearances from famous musicians including David Byrne, Miho Hatori (of Ciba Matto), and Brazilian songstress Bebel Gilberto, Forro in the Dark is steadily introducing the genre across the globe. This video featuring David Byrne was produced & directed by one of the many great artists we house over at Nublu, Karina Correa. They are currently touring and have national dates coming throughout the next month.

Il suo primo lavoro al missaggio avvenne per la colonna sonora del film di Stephen Frears "My Beautiful Launderette" (1985). Nel 1994 fondò anche una propria etichetta discografica, la Pussyfoot. Sempre di prestigio le sue collaborazioni a progetti altrui, ed è impensabile ricordarle tutte. Si possono ricordare quella con i Soul to Soul, che fu una delle prime, per poi spaziare verso nomi come Tricky, Goldie e gli Everything But The Girl fino a Bjork. Una delle collaborazioni che più lo hanno avvicinato al grande pubblico è stata la partecipazione al tour mondiale degli U2, il Popmart Tour, con il compito di aprire i concerti con la propria musica e l'incarico ulteriore di ingegnere del suono durante i live della band irlandese.
