15/02/2007 : http://www.compost-records.com/ Director: Jutojo and Micheal Dörffler "Soon" the first Single from their debut-album "In Between" is the first single release from their debut album "In Between" that will hit the stores on the 29th of April 2002. Beside the original mix you will find several remixes done by the likes of Jazzy Jeff and Domu. This first Jazzanova single shows that Jazzanova have not only mastered the art of beats but also know how to work with full-fledged song structuring and vocalists. So this is how Jazzanova sounds when the beats get slower. Vikter Duplaix's crooner vocals are highlighted by a hybrid-bossa with a soulfull electro feeling. For those who don't know Vikter Duplaix; he just released a DJ-Kicks album on K7! Records and has dropped 12 Inch's on Groove Attack Records and as "Critical Point" on Master at Work records. The Jazzanova single "Soon" will be accompanied by a video-clip. The clip was directed by none other than Jutojo (yes, these are also the designers of the beautiful Jazzanova Album packaging) and Micheal Dörffler. The clip was shot in Berlin by Annabelle Hanke and produced by Produktion 2, Cine Plus Mediaservice Berlin.
The Underwolves - So Blue It's Black
15/02/2007 : The fantastic soulful 'So Blue It's Black' in three different great mixes (the CD also contains the Original Version): The Heavy Manners Mix by DJ Pulse and Professor Stretch uses only few vocal samples and puts the main focus on the beats ? which are excellent. They will definitely not fail to rock the dancefloor. Headz-stuff. Juryman's Aberash version is more on a jazzy tip. Breaks & Beats on speed, he spins out a nice mellow soundscape with gentle pulses. Juryman aka Ian Simmonds recently released the highly regarded longplayer "Return To X" on Studio K7. Phil Asher comes up with a superb House version under his well-known remix-name Restless Soul. As promo released by Island Blue in 2000, the track was heavily played by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Patrick Forge, Jazzanova, and all those lucky people who got hold of a copy. Now it finally gets a proper release and you can be sure the track will storm the dancefloors - one more time!!
Beat Assailant - I like cash
09/09/2006 : Face à la saturation du marché hip-hop américain, Beat Assailant, rappeur originaire d?Atlanta, débarque à Paris en 2001 pour voir un pote. Il y rencontre Zach, producteur pour Jazzanova et le label Dreyfus Jazz, et décide d?en faire son beatmaker. A travers ses compos jazzy et aérées, on découvre que Beat Assailant porte finalement mal son nom. Il fait partie de cette petite catégorie de rappeurs qui laissent respirer le beat. Un paradoxe qui peut s?expliquer par la structure des morceaux proposés. Comme sur Get High et le flow éthéré qui l?accompagne. B.A est un rappeur qui s?adapte. Un oiseau rare. et en concert c'est 10 musiciens sur scène du grand art... ps: ce titre ne fait pas la gloire de l'argent il y décrit juste l'effet de l'argent et on est tous un peu comme ça... laissez vos com juste pour savoir si vous aimez.
