Roses of Picardy / Alex Bird
31/12/2008 : "One of the things that grabs you about Bobby Darin is his flawless ability to grab you emotionally, whether its during a ballad or during a swinger. When I heard Bobby's take of this classic, I fell on the floor. It is absolutely something else! It is a very special song that has been recorded by many people, and if you were to get technical...was actually the first ever solo recorded song by Frank Sinatra, on a home recording kit around 1936. All in all, I want you to sit back and relax, as I try to capture what this version is supposed to make you feel. It is a most magnificent song, lex Birdwritten by, Fred E. Weatherly".
