16/04/2008 : Live performance at the bcn cafe frankfurt. Hailing from the Frankfurt area, Blackfish is the musical output of Maximillian Lopp and Andreas Baßermann. more information at www.blackfish-productions.de Seems decades have been past, since they have been active as musicians and music producers in the local music scene. Maximillian created 'Blackfish' in 1998 using his faith and imagination of deep, atmospheric trip-hop and downbeats. He took the melancholic jazz tunes and concise beats that were in his head and set them free, making them a reality. Seems decades have been past, since they have been active as musicians and music producers in the local music scene. In 2001 the first album "pole navigation" was released on the Konvex Konkav label. With all of his hard work, success was soon to follow. His presence on many important compilations and continuous airplay lead to world wide recognition. New opportunities arose including remixes for Beanfield and Slop Shop, as well as a contribution to the cult Walldorf compilation "Zeitlos II". With driving ambition, Maximilian felt the need to venture out of the studio and take Blackfish from the basement to the stage. 2001 also saw the addition of Andreas, with whom he worked the songs into a live performance. The vision of playing live music brought Maximilian and Andreas a certain intense, yet cohesive collaboration with a variety of talented musicians lending way to a new horizon, full of endless possibilities in making music. The result of their teamwork is the second Longplayer "Hidden Shore", wich was released in 2005 at maxelect records

17/09/2007 : BUDDHA BAR: NATURE PART 3 OF 3 The Buddha Bar is an exclusive and highly-regarded bar and restaurant in Paris, France, and is a Buddha-themed venue serving Asian cuisine. The two-storey dining area is dominated by a large statue of Buddha. The upstairs bar is a large, ornate dragon. The Buddha Bar originally became popular because of the DJ's choice of eclectic, avant-garde music. Buddha Bar has also opened venues in Beirut, Dubai, Amman, New York City, and Lisbon. A brand-new venue, designed to emulate the Buddha Bar in Paris, will open at the Sofitel El Gezirah in Cairo on August 1, 2007. Buddha Bar is also the name of a popular and exclusive, yet unrelated bar in Barcelona. Compilation CDs are released under the Buddha Bar brand name, some of them have been compiled by David Visan, son of Raymond Visan, who opened the Bar in 1996. These are generally of lounge or "chill-out" music, reflecting that which played in the restaurant itself. The series was started by Claude Challe and continues today with different producers. DVDs have been released along side the series. The latest release, Buddha-Bar IX, was released on April 16th, 2007.
Supreme Beings of Leisure - Youre Always
11/04/2007 : Supreme Beings of Leisure are an electronic/trip-hop band from Los Angeles, California. Current members of SBL are Singer/Songwriter Geri Soriano-Lightwood and Multi-Instrumentalist/Programmer Ramin Sakurai. SBL was formed from the remains of the band Oversoul 7 in 1998 when they signed to Palm Pictures. In 1996, Oversoul 7 came together as members Geri Soriano-Lightwood, Ramin Sakurai, (Bassist)) Kiran Shahani, and (Guitarist) Rick Torres released "Nothing Like Tomorrow" and "What's the Deal" on two compilations on the Moonshine Music dance label. After the Moonshine releases, Oversoul 7 signed a demo deal with A&M records recording demos of "Truth From Fiction", "Never the Same", and "Last Girl on Earth", all songs which ended up on the now classic "Supreme Beings of Leisure" debut album (released on Palm Pictures label). The release of the first Supreme Beings of Leisure album sold over 250,000 units with very little promotional touring. Instead, SBL opted to use the internet to market and promote the album, being the first band to ever do a "Virtual Internet Tour", and among the very first to use Flash animation for their videos. SBL composed the theme music for the PBS documentary series FRONTLINE/World. After the release of the debut album, the band decided to split leaving Geri and Ramin as the main members of SBL, quickly releasing the second SBL album "Divine Operating System" in 2002. In 2003, SBL decided to leave the Palm Pictures taking a 2 year hiatus releasing various remixes and appearing on various artists albums during this period. In 2006, member Kiran Shahani released his own album as a duo with Shana Halligan under the name Bitter:sweet. The Supreme Beings of Leisure has started writing new material and are currently recording their third highly anticipated SBL release which is due to release in early 2007.
Zero 7 - Destiny
27/03/2007 : Zero 7 have also been popularly featured in various film and TV soundtracks, as well as lounge music compilations such as The Chillout Project by Filipino DJ Anton Ramos, and the Hôtel Costes compilation CDs. Their track "Lo" was featured on a mix CD by Layo and Bushwacka!, and is the reason behind the common mistake of people thinking that Layo and Bushwacka! had remixed the track, when they have not. It is one of the few times the track has actually appeared on CD (or in digital form), as the only Zero 7 release it has been featured on is EP1 which was only available on vinyl. Their music appearances in movies and television are also apparent, most notably their songs "Destiny" (featured in Blue Crush, Raising Helen as well as on Episode 60, "Four Aliens and A Baby," in the third season of Roswell), "Give It Away" (featured on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - track 5 on the official soundtrack), and "In The Waiting Line" (featured on the Grammy-winning Garden State soundtrack as well as on Episode 85, "The Domino Effect," in the sixth season of Sex and the City on HBO, and also on episode 59, "Needle in a Haystack," in the third season of House on Fox). Currently "Destiny" is featured on the Lacoste website. For SkyTV's broadcast of the Star Wars Saga (Episodes 1-6), "Destiny" was used as the background music in the 'romance' version of the full length commercial. In early 2006, HBO used "In The Waiting Line" for a promotional for the network's upcoming season of shows. The 96-second trailer featured clips of the shows moving in backwards fashion.
