Namgyal Lhamo - poet, singer, songwriter - is arguably the most gifted Tibetan classical singer and often referred to as "The Nightingale of Tibet". Trained under the greatest Tibetan masters, she was for 12 years the soloist of H. H. the Dalai Lama?s Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA). After a magnificent classical album ?Pure? (Silk Road/Harmonia Mundi) released in 2007, she has teamed up with the most unlikely of producers : British punk rockers Marco Pirroni (ex Adam and the Ants, Siouxsie and the Banshees) and Chris Constantinou (De-Niro of the Ants) who are now "The Wolfmen". Troisième album de Siouxsie and the Banshees publié en août 1980 et co-produit par Nigel Gray. Arrivée du guitariste et compositeur de génie John McGeoch (ex membre de Magazine) et du batteur inventif Budgie (ex- membre de the slits). Album de l'ouverture, résolument plus pop et plus éclectique, emmené par deux singles pop très réussis Happy House et Christine. Cet album est précurseur de nouveaux styles musicaux. Red light est un peu ce que Massive Attack et DM ont fait musicalement dans les années 90. Clockface sonne comme un instrumental pre- Breeders et paradise place & Skin préfigurent musicalement les Pixies. Mention spéciale à la ballade Desert kisses. A noter qu'une première version inédite de happy house, différemment arrangée, plus longue et bien supérieure à la version standard, est disponible pour la première fois officiellement en bonus des nouvelles éditions cd. L'éclectisme de Kaleidsocope a influencé Robert Smith de The Cure pour la confection de l'album 'the head on the door'. c'est ce qu'il a déclaré au journaliste Steve sutherland dans une interview intitulée A Suitable Case for Treatment publiée dans le magazine Melody Maker le 17 août 1985. Les membres du groupe qui ont enregistrés cet album sont : Siouxsie, Steve Severin, Budgie et le guitariste John McGeoch. Kaleidoscope est le premier des trois albums des Banshees conçus avec McGeoch entre 1980 et 1982.
