05/07/2008 : Voici un extrait d'un concert concert donné par THE LAST REPORT-:Lionel FORTIN (kbds), Roger BIWANDU(drums), Linley MARTHE (bass), Laurent PARIS (percs), Christophe MAROYE (guit), Jean-Christophe JACQUES (as, ss,ts) lors du Bordeaux Jazz Festival 2008, en hommage à Joe Zawinul. Bon, c'est filmé à l'appareil photo numérique, donc l'image l'image saute un peu au début, mais ça donne quand même un aperçu du talent des musiciens. On y voit notamment le roucmoute y faire un chorus énorme...Merci à Faby pour ce petit film.

27/03/2008 : Eine Musikanimation zur einzig bedeutenden amerikanischen Kunstform! Eine Jazz-Combo (Klarinette/Saxophon, Jazzgitarre, Bass und Schlagzeug) führt die Kinder auf humorvolle, zuhörergerechte Weise in den Jazz ein. Nicht nur die Musikinstrumente und die Jazz-Stile von Ragtime bis Fusion werden vorgestellt, sondern ein Jazz Song wird einstudiert und 2 Tänze erlernt! Unter anderem werden folgende Fragen geklärt: Was ist Jazz? Warum ist das Schlagzeug zu groß? Warum spielt der Saxophonist plötzlich Klarinette? Warum afrikanische Musik? Ist Rock`n`roll Jazz? Wie tanzt man Samba? Spielte Mozart Jazz? Was ist Swing? Was hat ein Spezi mit Jazz zu tun? Wo liegt Dixieland? Nachdem der Leiter des Wiener Konzertbüros seit 25 Jahren Kinderkonzerte gibt, und Musik vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart präsentiert, kommt nach der ?Schubertiade für Kinder" nun ?JAZZ 4 kids", um in bewährter Weise Kindern und Jugendlichen die Freude an der Musik (in diesem Fall Jazz) zu vermitteln. Wie bei allen unseren Kinder- Animations- Konzerten liegen die Schwerpunkte auch diesmal auf alterskonforme Aufbereitung und Einbeziehung der ?kreativen" Seiten der Zuhörer. Unser Ziel ist ?die Vermittlung der Freude an und mit Musik" um damit auch einen Beitrag zur Entwicklung von ?Soft Skills" zu geben.

09/03/2008 : Weather Report was an influential jazz fusion band of the 1970s and early 1980s, combining jazz and latin jazz with art music, ethnic music, r&b, funk, and rock elements (in heavily varying proportions during the years), often demonstrating high levels of compositional and improvisational skills. Being one of the groups most frequently associated with both fusion and jazz-rock may be seen as ironic, as Zawinul once said in a Down Beat interview he "did not understand what fusion meant" and Pat Metheny once revealed he and Jaco Pastorius sometimes used to talk about how much they disliked that musical style called "jazz-rock". Founders Pianist Joe Zawinul and saxophonist Wayne Shorter first met and became friends in 1959 as they had both played in Maynard Ferguson's Big Band. Weather Report is despite this often seen as a spin-off from the group of musicians associated with Miles Davis in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Shorter and Zawinul duo became a stable core of the group, while other musicians were rotated, with almost every new album release. Both Zawinul and Shorter had made their marks among the best composers in jazz, Zawinul in Cannonball Adderley's group and Shorter in Miles Davis' group. 08/03/2008 : Weather Report Live at Montreux 1976 Weather Report was founded in 1970 by musicians who had met while playing with Miles Davis. This Montreux Festival show from 1976 follows on from the release of their album ?Black Market? but features the line-up that would release their most famous and successful album ?Heavy Weather? in 1977. This lineup features Joe Zawinul (keyboards), Wayne Shorter (saxophones), Jaco Pastorius (bass), Alex Acuna (drums) and Manolo Badrena (percussion). Previously only available as a bootleg of a TV broadcast, this new DVD release is fully authorized and has been restored to its full length.
