DJ Spooky on Media, Culture, and Rhythm Science Michael James Folliett and The Wallpaper Project presents Paul Miller A.K.A. DJ Spooky as he speaks on Media, Culture, and Rhythm Science. This video is edited in a way that mimics the ideas set forth by Paul. This cut-up approach to editing sharply redirects one and a half hours into approximately seventeen minutes. 05/11/2008 : MOUNTAINEERS ROCK AND ROLL HALLOWEEN.This is the big one! Join me, RON BOLIN, THE DANCIN' DJ, for the very last dance at the current Seattle Mountaineers Building before they move. Wear a costume tonight for Seattle's most popular annual Halloween costume contest. Great prizes for the best costumes (see the prize list in the top portion of this email). If not wearing a costume, nice casual attire is fine. You don't have to know any dance steps to have a great time here. Doors open at 7:45 PM. To start things off I'll teach a fun and easy beginner's "Spooky Swing" lesson. Then we'll dim the house lights and turn on the party lights! Dance from 8:30 PM to Midnight as I play great hits of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s plus Halloween favorites! The evening will also include USA DANCE performing a spooky dance routine! I'll include mixers to give you a chance to meet lots of new people. There will be a no host bar, plus you are encouraged to bring snack items to share. It's open to EVERYONE ages 21 and over. Admission is $12 at the door. It's in the big Olympic Room at the Seattle Mountaineers Building, 300 Third Ave W, Seattle. That's on Thomas Street just a few blocks west of Seattle Center, near the waterfront where Elliott meets Western. Produced by the Seattle Mountaineers. Denver's Dialog:City
08/05/2008 : As part of its hosting of the 2008 Democratic National Convention, Denver will also host 10 major digital artists from around the world. The artists will present work which enables citizens to discuss democracy in innovative ways. DJ Spooky of New York joined the mayor at the announcement of Dialog:City Monday, May 5, 2008. The event is being coordinated by the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs, whose director, Erin Trapp, outlined the detailed schedule of artist presentations. Denver podcaster Len Edgerly, of Video Pod Chronicles, reports.
