29/12/2008 : Bratz dolls are facing removal from all shops after a US federal court banned parent company MGA Entertainment from making the Barbie-rival. The court issued the order after Barbie-maker Mattel, won a landmark copyright-infringementcase against MGA in August. Bratz designer Carter Bryant had been found guilty of developing the Bratz brand while still working for Mattel. MGA has appealed the ruling, which severely undermines its business model.

That strategy has been adopted by virtually all the U.S. news sites as well as Reuters. Charlie Tillinghast, president at msnbc.com, told me that instead of sending viewers to YouTube, embeddable video makes it easier for visitors to share the video from msnbc.com. I've reposted that interview today. Usually, it's YouTube that has success with content from broadcasters, but in an interesting twist, the Today Show attracted views with a hit video from YouTube, The Lion Reunion. The Today show clip was watched 2.4 million times on msnbc.com, making it the most watched video clip of the year, Beet.TV has learned. The video on YouTube has gotten 3.2 million views. We don't know how many views of the Lion clip were watched on the original page on msnbc.com or how many views were on an embeddable player seen elsewhere, but the development in providing sharable videos by mainstream media is one of the most important developments of 2008. 27/12/2008 : REUTERS - Ehud Olmert a lancé jeudi un appel "de dernière minute" aux habitants de Gaza, les exhortant à chasser le Hamas du pouvoir et soulignant qu'il n'hésiterait pas à employer la force en cas de poursuite des tirs palestiniens sur Israël. "Je ne suis pas venu ici pour déclarer la guerre", a déclaré le Premier ministre israélien dans une interview à la chaîne de télévision Al Arabiya, très regardée à Gaza. "Mais il faut arrêter le Hamas, et c'est ce qui va se passer. Je n'hésiterai pas à utiliser la puissance d'Israël pour frapper le Hamas et le Djihad (islamique). Comment? Je ne rentrerai pas aujourd'hui dans les détails", a-t-il dit. "Est-ce dans l'esprit de l'islam de tuer des enfants innocents, de tirer des roquettes sur des garderies et des civils? Je ne crois pas que cela soit dans l'esprit de l'islam", a-t-il dit. "Ce que fait le Hamas, en totale opposition avec l'esprit de l'islam, constitue la première raison de vos souffrances, et des nôtres. Je vous le dis dans un dernier appel, arrêtez cela. Vous, les habitants de Gaza, vous pouvez l'arrêter", a lancé le chef du gouvernement israélien aux Gazaouites. Dans le ton comme dans le fond, l'intervention d'Ehud Olmert sur un média arabe constitue l'indication la plus claire de la possibilité d'une intervention militaire de Tsahal à Gaza, que les Israéliens ont évacué il y a trois ans. Selon des sources politiques, le cabinet restreint d'Israël a approuvé une escalade militaire "par étapes" débutant par des bombardements aériens contre de nombreuses cibles du Hamas. 24/12/2008 : Fadel Chanaa, 25 ans, journaliste palestinien de l'agence de presse Reuters, se trouvait dans le camp de réfugiés de Boureij dans la Bande de Gaza où, avec son équipe, il filmait l'attaque des Forces d'Occupation Israélienne. Occupant un véhicule identifié "PRESS" et "TV" il a été tué d'un tir d'obus à flechette par un blindé sioniste. L'utilisation de ces munitions à fléchette est en soi un crime de guerre, l'armée coloniale sioniste l'utilise sur le camp de Gaza, très densément peuplé.
