02/12/2008 : Fils de deux membres des Black Panthers, Tupac Amaru Shakur voit le jour à New York. Ses parents se séparent avant même sa naissance et il se retrouve chez sa mère avec sa s?ur. La famille déménage régulièrement pendant son enfance, luttant avec la pauvreté. Il réussit tout de même à être accepté à la prestigieuse Baltimore School of the Arts alors qu?il est adolescent. C?est lors de son séjour à l?école que son côté créatif s?épanouit alors qu?il commence à composer des pièces de rap et à jouer au théâtre. Il ne parvient toutefois pas à recevoir son diplôme puisque la famille part pour la Californie et s?installe à Marin City alors qu?il est âgé de 17 ans. Au cours des années qui suivent, il vit dans la rue et fraie avec les petits criminels. Il fait éventuellement la connaissance de Shock-G, leader de Digital Underground. Le groupe d?Oakland décide de l?embaucher comme danseur et technicien.En tournée, il en profite pour développer son propre matériel. 2Pac fait une première apparition sur disque sur « This Is an EP Release » de Digital Underground qui est lancé au printemps 1991. On peut aussi l?entendre sur leur second album, « Sons of the P. ». L?année suivante, il lance son premier effort en solo, « 2Paccalypse Now ». Le disque remporte un succès grâce au bouche à oreille alors que la pièce « Brenda?s Got a Baby » atteint le Top 30 R&B. Le disque finit par atteindre la certification or. Toutefois, ses textes crus et vulgaires lui valent la critique du vice-pésident Dan Quayle et de groupes de parents.La Biographie N'est pas Entière !!!

01/12/2008 : From Lillo's 2nd Album from 1984 All Of You ------------------- Biographyby: Lillo Thomas was a world-class sprinter at 16, setting the world record for the 200 meters at 20.8 seconds. But an automobile accident in Brazil prevented him from appearing in the 1984 Olympics, for which he had qualified. Thomas left athletics behind for music, and toured with comedian Eddie Murphy in 1985. He became a successful session vocalist, doing vocals on releases by Evelyn "Champagne" King, Kashif, James Ingram, George Benson, and Melba Moore, among others, while also writing "Mind Up Tonight" for Moore. He landed his own solo deal with Capitol, and began getting singles on the charts. "Your Love's Got a Hold on Me" was his first Top 20 R&B single in 1984, and Thomas enjoyed his biggest year in 1987 with three Top Ten R&B hits. "I'm in Love" reached number two and remains his most successful single. Thomas collaborated with Paul Laurence on songs recorded by Freddie Jackson and Moore. He has also successfully acted and painted.

27/11/2008 : Le révérend Martin Luther King Jr est un pasteur baptiste afro-américain né à Atlanta (États-Unis) le 15 janvier 1929 et mort assassiné le 4 avril 1968 à Memphis. Militant non violent pour les droits civiques des Noirs aux États-Unis, pour la paix et contre la pauvreté, il organise et dirige des actions tel le Boycott des bus de Montgomery pour défendre le droit de vote, la déségrégation et l'emploi des minorités. Il prononce un discours célèbre le 28 août 1963 devant le Lincoln Memorial à Washington durant la marche pour l'emploi et la liberté : « I have a dream » (J'ai un rêve). Il est soutenu par John F. Kennedy dans la lutte contre la discrimination raciale ; la plupart de ces droits seront promus par le « Civil Rights Act » et le « Voting Rights Act » sous la présidence de Lyndon B. Johnson. Martin Luther King devient le plus jeune lauréat du prix Nobel de la paix en 1964 pour sa lutte non violente contre la ségrégation raciale et pour la paix. Il commence alors une campagne contre la guerre du Viêt Nam et la pauvreté, qui prend fin en 1968 avec son assassinat par James Earl Ray, dont la culpabilité et la participation à un complot sont toujours débattues. Il se voit décerner à titre posthume la Médaille présidentielle de la liberté par Jimmy Carter en 1977, la médaille d'or du Congrès en 2004, et est considéré comme l'un des plus grands orateurs américains[1]. (The New York Times). Pas facile d?être pianiste et chanteur quand son frère a marqué à tout jamais l?histoire du jazz vocal et du piano jazz. Freddy ressemble à Nat King Cole autant physiquement que par son timbre de voix. Il est temps de venir acclamer ce magnifique musicien, plein de sensibilité et de talent.
