02/11/2008 : Les Sables-d'Olonne (Vendée), 24 octobre 2008, Samantha Davies se prépare. La jeune Anglaise participe au 6e Vendée Globe 2008-2009, et la dernière fois qu?une jeune Anglaise s?est alignée au départ du Vendée Globe (Ellen MacArthur), on sait le résultat, même si elle a une autre compatriote en course (Dee Caffari, voir autre vidéo) ! Samantha Davies, élevée aux courants du Solent puis dans les teams de grands marins (Nick Moloney, Tracy Edwards?) ne fera pas de figuration dans la course autour du monde, ni sa collègue, parce qu'elles sont des femmes navigatrices. Car ceux qui suivent de près le circuit Figaro, auquel elle s?est entièrement consacrée ces dernières années, savent bien que son joli minois cache une navigatrice redoutable, perpétuellement à l?aise en mer, en particulier sur les longues distances. En 2005 notamment, "Sam" avait impressionné en se hissant au beau milieu de l?Atlantique parmi les potentiels vainqueurs de la transat Saint-Nazaire-Cuba. Titulaire d?un master d?ingénierie, Sam voulait faire ce Vendée Globe, « parce que c?est la course la plus longue que j?ai trouvée pour être seule en mer ». Tout est dit. Roxy est aussi le bateau de l?ancien PRB, double vainqueur des deux précédentes éditions du Vendée Globe avec Michel Desjoyeaux puis Vincent Riou. Un bon signe ? Originaire de Las Vegas dans le Nevada, il a été créé en 2002 et se compose de Brandon Flowers, David Brent "Dave" Keuning, Mark Stoermer et Ronald "Ronnie" Vannucci Jr.. Leur musique est influencée par des références incontournables des années 80 et 90 comme Depeche Mode, Oasis, David Bowie, New Order ou encore The Smiths. Forts de ce savant mélange et de leur maturité musicale, leur premier album Hot Fuss (2004) est un succès critique et mondial. Le groupe ne tarde donc pas à s'atteler à l'enregistrement et à la sortie de leur second opus Sam's Town (2006). S'en suit une compilation de nouvelles chansons, d'inédites et de faces B intitulée Sawdust (2007). La vente cumulée de ces 3 albums atteint les 12 millions d'exemplaires et assoit les Killers comme une valeur sûre de la scène internationale. Ils reviennent sur les devants de celle-ci avec la sortie de leur dernier album Day and Age le 24 Novembre 2008.

13/10/2008 : Il parait que c'est le clip officiel de la mort du web 2.0 (d'après techcrunch) Il s'agit en fait d'une vingtaine de gugus, plus ou moins stars de l'informatique, réunie à Chypre le temps d'un weekend de travail et qui s'amusent tellement qu'ils en font une vidéo. On peut y voir Brittany Bohnet de Google, Mike Hudack de Blip.tv, Dave Morin et Aaron Sittig de Facebook, Sam Lessin de Drop.io et Jessica Vascellaro, Wall Street Journal Silicon Valley beat reporter. La vidéo a été postée sur vimeo puis a fait le tour des blogs de façon virale avant que ses auteurs ne s'aperçoivent que ce n'était pas très opportun en ces temps de crise et ne la suppriment de partout, ce qui me permet de jouer au chevalier blanc anti-censure. Je vous avoue que je n'ai strictement rien à cirer de ces types. D'ailleurs moi aussi j'ai passé un super weekend à boire des bières avec des potes. Au moins la chanson est belle. 31/05/2008 : Classy (www.classycomedy.com) has put together this film in the hopes that you will come see their new sketch comedy show at 11pm on June 14th, 21st, or 28th at The Peoples Improv Theater in New York City. Classy is Aaron Kheifets, James Rich, Sam Forman and Dave Warth. They're directed by Kevin Scott and Kevin Allison from MTV's The State. Kevin Gottlieb filmed this. He's awesome. Many awesome Kevins are involved. So, please check them out. The music is by Regina Spektor. You should probably check her out too.
